Reggie Gets Her Skates On

TASSIE'S former Big Brother winner Regina Bird is donning her ice skates for a new reality show that will hit television screens this weekend.Bird is a contestant on Skating On Thin Ice - a new show that puts nine celebrities through a gruelling figure-skating training program with the aim of performing in a Disney on Ice spectacular.

And while the show makes its debut on Channel Nine this Sunday at 6.30pm, the training is already well under way.

Bird, who confesses she has not skated since a Year 7 school excursion to the Glenorchy ice rink, describes the long days of training in Sydney as "full on".

"We're all just finding our feet," she said during a quick break yesterday.
After taking home the $250,000 prize pool in the third series of Big Brother in 2003, Bird, now 31, traded her days in a Cambridge fish and chip shop for the bright lights of fame.

She made a TV pilot that never went to air before landing her dream job as a flight attendant with Virgin Blue.

But in a shock move two weeks ago the Melbourne-based star quit after only six months to get back into TV.

And so far she loves mingling with celebrities again.

Her co-stars include singers Deni Hines and James Blundell, model Imogen Bailey, former Miss World Belinda Green, comedian Vince Sorrenti, TV presenters Peter Everett, Dave Whitehall and Kim Kilbey and host Jamie Durie.
